Steve Stone #19
Stone commenced his professional career at Nottingham Forest and suffered three broken legs during his time at the club - testimony to his no-nonsense attitude on the pitch. It was this sort of commitment that established Stone as a regular in the England squad during Euro 96.
Undboubtedly Forest's most saleable asset, Stone was sold to Aston Villa for £5.5 million in March 1999 before finally signing for Pompey in December 2002. |
