Baros bid turned down
An audacious bid to secure the services of Liverpool striker Milan Baros on loan was swiftly rejected by the Merseysiders, following the unlikelyhood that Harry Redknapp will be able to secure the services of Frances Jeffers until the end of the season.
Baros is hoped to be very close to returning to action following almost five months on the sidelines following a broken leg. It is thought the Czech star will make a run-out in the reserves very soon. It was hoped that signing for Pompey would assist the youngster to regain his fitness whilst on loan.
Pompey have seen their striking options decimated with Jason Roberts ending his loan spell from West Brom to join Wigan, Yakubu Aiyegbeni going on international duty in the African Cup of Nations and duo Svetoslav Todorov and Vincent Pericard still on the sidelines.
